چکیده
Eales disease, first described by Henry in 1880, constitutes an idiopathic occlusive retinal vasculopathy apparently multifactorial, and with a likely immunologic origin, which mainly affects the peripheral retina bilaterally young patients predominantly males. Most cases are asymptomatic early stages of disease however, course floaters blurry vision arise hemorrhages lead to significant visual loss. The clinical appearance depends on nonperfusion neovascularization that follow perivasculitis. Visual loss is commonly due vitreous hemorrhage tractional detachment. Routine biochemical tests, fundus fluorescein angiography, widefield optical coherence tomography, tomography ultrasound used diagnosis disease. Corticosteroids, immunosuppressive agents, laser photocoagulation, intravitreal triamcinolone, anti-VEGF injections, vitrectomy treatment modalities.

Primary Retinal Vasculitis Vs Eales’ Disease
Purpose: To report on a case of a patient with primary retinal vasculitis. Methods: Retrospective single case report. Patient: A 27-year-old female presented with decreased vision in her left eye for the past year. On exam, her visual acuity for the left eye was 20/50. She has had trouble accessing medical care but denies any illness, infections or trauma. Results: Upon ophthalmic examination, ...
متن کاملEales disease: no typical clinical presentation
Eales disease is clinically manifested by retinal phlebitis, the onset of ischemia and retinal vessels neo area is often revealed by vitreous hemorrhage. Its etiology remains unknown. The management of this disease depends on the clinical presentation. Our patient was 27 years old, consults for a progressive loss of visual acuity unilateral in her left eye. On fundus exam at the emergency depar...
متن کاملAssociation of mycobacteria with Eales' disease.
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Eales' disease is an idiopathic disease resulting in retinal neovascularization, recurrent haemorrhages, with or without retinal detachment predominantly affecting healthy young males (97.6%) in the Indian subcontinent. Inspite of several studies, the aetiology of Eales' disease is not clear. The isolation of Mycobacterium fortuitum from the aqueous humour of a patient w...
متن کاملUnilateral Eales’ disease a case report
Introduction. Eales disease is an idiopathic peripheral vascular occlusive disease characterized by inflammation, ischemia, and retinal neovascularization and is hallmarked by recurrent vitreous hemorrhages and vision loss. Case report. We present a case of a 48-year-old female with recurrent floaters and decreased vision in her right eye. The onset of symptoms was in 2007 when a diagnose of re...
متن کاملTHERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF LASER PHOTOCOAGULATION AND VITRECTOMY IN EALES\'DISEASE
Eales' disease is an idiopathic obliterative retinal vasculopathy that is treated with laser photocoagulation, and/or vitrectomy. In order to determine visual outcomes and regression of retinal neovascularization following scattered peripheral retinal photocoagulation, and/or vitrectomy in cases with Eales' disease, we did a retrospective study of the records of these patients treated in La...
